PART-TIME RETAIL AND WORKSHOP SUPPORT
Location: Whangarei workshop
Hours: Around 20+ hours per week (roughly 10am–2pm, Monday–Friday, but we’re flexible)
The Role
We’re looking for someone to help keep the wheels turning in our Whangarei workshop and retail store.
This job is part retail assistant, part organiser-of-chaos, part workshop support… and regularly boss-wrangler.
You’ll be the friendly face in the shop, the calm voice on the phone, and the person who knows where everything is when everyone else has no idea.
Your day might involve:
- Keeping stock under control (ordering, selling, shipping, counting, finding the thing that mysteriously vanished)
- Helping the boss with personal assistant tasks (he needs the help… badly)
- Answering the phone and pointing farmers in the right direction when something important breaks
- Looking after customers in-store and over the phone
- Keeping the shop, workshop and vehicles tidy, so that visitors don’t think we’re completely feral
- Helping organise deliveries, collections and freight
- General admin – emails, supplies, mail, helping our admin manager stay sane
- Selling and advising on retail gear
- The occasional payroll or invoice job
- Keeping health & safety records in order
- Helping with waste management and general workshop logistics
- Covering the odd bit of leave in Whangarei or Dargaville if needed
Basically… if it keeps the place running, it might be your job.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to know everything about farming or pumps or cowsheds — but you do need to be organised, practical, and good with people.
We’d love someone who:
- Enjoys dealing with customers and helping people solve problems
- Can run a retail store like they own the place
- Is steady and reliable (some of our clients call when things are genuinely urgent)
- Can translate farming jargon into plain English
- Has a solid sense of humour (this helps… a lot)
- Is flexible, dependable and generally someone who gets stuff done
- Bonus points if you’re the type who notices things before anyone asks.
What’s In It For You
- A down-to-earth team that actually enjoys working together
- Work that genuinely helps farmers and rural businesses
- Competitive pay, bonuses, and a few celebrations through the year
- A workplace where your ideas are welcome and useful
If you’re organised, practical, good with people, and not afraid of a bit of workshop chaos…
We’d love to hear from you.
