Employment Type: Full-time – 40 hours per week
Location: Based in our Dargaville workshop & store, with the ability to cover leave in our Whangarei workshop as required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing our retail store

  • Answering the phone, tri-aging clients & onboarding jobs for the service technicians
  • Assisting customers & clients in the store
  • Cleaning & general retail tidiness
  • Customer service
  • Administration – answering emails, checking mail, stationary, workshop supplies
  • Providing advice & selling retail stock to customers
  • Maintain health and safety records, and site documentation

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone who enjoys working with people as much as they enjoy their job
  • Someone to help run our retail store and growing online store, supplying products around the world
  • A steady, reliable presence—we deal with clients in high pressure situations where animal welfare is at stake, so our clients need to know they can count on you to organise technicians & support when it’s an emergency situation
  • The ability to translate farming jargon into plain English (or even better, a good analogy).
  • A great sense of humour—because some days, you just have to laugh.
  • Someone who is flexible to cover leave, reliable, consistent & “gets shit done”.

What’s in it for you?

  • A supportive, down-to-earth team that actually enjoys what they do.
  • Work that’s meaningful—helping farmers succeed, one conversation at a time.
  • Great remuneration package including competitive pay, performance bonuses and celebrations throughout the year.
  • A workplace where your ideas matter.

  • Keeping accurate records of work carried out; completing paperwork, service logs, job cards.

  • Experience working with agricultural machinery, farm equipment, or rural servicing — ideally with mechanical, electrical or hydraulics background.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and reliably.
  • Good communication and customer-service skills — able to explain issues clearly to farmers and clients.
  • A hands-on, can-do attitude: willing to tackle varied tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and get stuck in on-site or in workshop work.
  • A great sense of humour—because some days, you just have to laugh.
  • Someone who is flexible to cover leave, reliable, consistent & “gets sh*t done”.
  • A valid New Zealand driver’s licence

What’s in It for You

  • Join a well-established, trusted rural services company with strong ties to Northland’s farming community.

  • Opportunity to build technical skills across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, with ongoing learning as farm technology evolves.
  • Be part of a supportive, down-to-earth team who understand rural life and value quality workmanship and service.
